We conceived CGeomap for individual creators and for groups to make their own projects, and to teach about locative media. CGeomap leads to new creations and innovations in locative literature, locative art, locative activism and journalism, locative heritage, historical memory and place based storytelling. We are especially interested in helping creators and groups to make collaborative locative writing projects, by teaching this new interactive audiovisual language rooted in the Earth or Earth Storytelling. CGeomap allows to explore new kinds of storytelling, writing and literature in collaboration with artists, researchers, art centers, museums, libraries, book shops and publishers. Simultaneously we explore new kinds of online collaborations, related to sharing of diverse locales and environments, and processes related to remote co-creation, as an collective answer to our planetary crises.
The pilot version of CGeomap (v.1) was programmed by Horacio González, from the Escoitar collective, pioneering in locative sound since 2006. Fred Adam and Verónica Perales, founders of the GPS Museum Lab and members of the Transnational Temps Arts collective are the co-creators of CGeomap. In 2019, the migrating biker and magician programmer Jacques Bigot reprogrammed CGeomap to its roots and created its actual v.2 framework. Geert Vermeire, walking artist, writer, curator, co-founder of the Milena principle and collaborator of the noTours locative sound platform became part of the initiative. Together with Fred Adam they form the core of the actual CGeomap team, acknowledging the global effort and contributions of many inspiring artists and skilled experts to the complex and innovative tool that CGeomap is now.
Please submit your project and we will evaluate your needs. We prioritize projects in the line of our vision and philosophy of connection with the earth, and planetary and place based intermedia storytelling. We can not respond to all kinds of projects and if we believe there are better solutions out there for you, we will try to redirect you to other locative media platforms, partners and collaborators.
